PAEDS

Pediatric dentistry focuses on dental care for children, including preventive treatments like cleanings, fluoride applications, sealants, and restorative treatments such as fillings, crowns, and root canals when necessary.

Pulpectomy

A pulpectomy is a dental procedure where the entire pulp tissue inside a tooth, including the pulp chamber and root canals, is removed due to infection or inflammation, followed by cleaning, disinfection, and filling of the canals to save the tooth from further damage.

GIC Filling

A GIC filling refers to a dental restoration made using Glass Ionomer Cement (GIC), which is a tooth-colored dental material commonly used for filling cavities, especially in primary (baby) teeth and non-load-bearing areas of permanent teeth. GIC fillings are known for their ability to release fluoride, which helps prevent further decay, and their chemical bonding to tooth structure, providing a secure seal. These fillings are versatile, easy to use, and have properties similar to natural tooth structure, making them suitable for a variety of dental applications.

Pulpotomy

A pulpotomy is a dental procedure that involves removing the diseased portion of the pulp tissue from the crown of a tooth while leaving the healthy pulp in the root canals intact, typically performed in cases of extensive decay or trauma in primary (baby) teeth.

SS Crown

An SS crown typically refers to a stainless steel crown, which is a prefabricated metal crown used in pediatric dentistry to restore primary (baby) teeth. Stainless steel crowns are durable, easy to place, and provide excellent protection for primary teeth that have extensive decay or damage. They are particularly useful in children who may have difficulty cooperating for longer dental procedures or who need a temporary solution until their permanent teeth erupt. Stainless steel crowns are pre-formed to fit specific tooth shapes and sizes and are cemented onto the prepared tooth, providing a long-lasting and reliable restoration.
